From domain fusion to software-defined vehicles: joint PoC with EDAG explores next-generation vehicle architecture integration
BADEN-BADEN, Germany, October 15, 2026 — Ethan Li, CSO & VP of Autolink, delivered a three-minute lightning talk at ELIV 2026, presenting “From Domain Fusion to Software-Defined Vehicles: Scalable E/E Architectures for Future Vehicle Platforms.” The presentation introduced AI Link 3.0 Deep Fusion EEA and Autolink's approach to local engineering collaboration for the European market.

As part of the session, Autolink's talk focused on coordination between central computing, zonal control and a high-speed optical communication backbone. It also introduced the joint proof of concept (PoC) with EDAG. EDAG followed with its own presentation, providing a natural continuation of the session's technical exchange.
Deep Fusion Architecture Supports Scalable Vehicle Platforms
As vehicles evolve toward software-defined operation and vehicle-wide AI, electrical and electronic architectures must support more cross-domain data exchange and computing tasks while accommodating different vehicle configurations and future functional expansion.
Deep Fusion EEA brings together a central computing platform, zonal controllers and a high-speed optical communication backbone to coordinate vehicle-wide computing, communication and input/output resources. The central platform handles consolidated computing tasks, zonal controllers connect devices across vehicle regions, and the optical backbone supports cross-domain data transfer and coordinated use of computing resources.

Scalability is built into the architecture's development approach. Computing and control resources can be configured to suit the functional and configuration requirements of different vehicles, while allowing room for subsequent software evolution.
Following Autolink's optical communication E/E architecture demonstrator at the exhibition, the lightning talk explained how these architectural elements work together and outlined the company's approach to future vehicle platform development.
Joint PoC with EDAG Connects Architecture Development with European Requirements
Bringing a vehicle architecture to the European market requires assessment against local automakers' development processes, functional requirements and system integration conditions.
Autolink and EDAG are conducting a joint PoC around Deep Fusion EEA to explore innovative E/E architectures and software-defined vehicle implementation pathways, including the suitability of candidate architectures for future vehicle platforms.

Autolink and EDAG Signing Ceremony, September 2026
The work addresses functional scope, system boundaries and interface specifications. It also explores scalable architecture solutions tailored to European market requirements, providing a basis for subsequent vehicle integration and joint development.
By including local partner collaboration in its architecture presentation, Autolink highlighted an engineering approach that combines technology development with joint exploration and validation to assess compatibility with local vehicle platform requirements.
The consecutive presentations by Autolink and EDAG offered the audience an opportunity to learn more about the architecture approach and the associated engineering collaboration.
Local Teams Support Development and Long-Term Cooperation
Autolink's European presence was another focus of the presentation.
The company continues to strengthen its business and R&D presence in France, Germany and Romania. Local teams bring Autolink closer to customer requirements, while technical and manufacturing resources support requirements discussions, joint development and system validation.

Autolink's Global Network
For European automakers, architecture assessment also involves long-term service, supply chain cooperation, and alignment with regulatory requirements and development processes. Local teams help Autolink understand these needs directly and incorporate them into product adaptation and engineering collaboration.
Building on the products and architecture demonstrated at ELIV, the lightning talk extended the discussion to technical implementation and local validation. Autolink will continue combining its production experience, multi-platform development capabilities and European resources to advance E/E architecture and product cooperation for next-generation intelligent vehicles.
Autolink is Coming to IZB Wolfsburg 2026
Following ELIV, Autolink will participate in the International Suppliers Fair (IZB) in Wolfsburg, Germany, on October 27–29, continuing customer engagement and supply chain discussions as part of its European event series.
